The success of our children, and our community, starts at school.

Kids spend most of their days in the classroom. And teachers and staff, who play a vital role in their development, are often the first to notice when something is off.
But with 1 in 5 young people struggling with mental health, schools don’t have the time or the resources they need to give every student the support they deserve.
We’re here to help.
Cartwheel provides mental health support to your entire school community, so that together we can make school a place where everyone thrives.

Progress requires supporting every student, every step of the way.
Meeting the needs of all students is a challenging task; one that’s made even more difficult by having to coordinate across a fragmented system of programs
and community providers.
Our program strengthens the Multi-tiered System of Support (MTSS)—the leading evidence-based approach to school mental health.
Skill-building workshops, professional development, and prevention programming for school staff and families, led by our team of mental health experts.
Clinical consultations and ongoing guidance for school staff on student situations. We can also run skill-building groups for students who need more targeted support.
Direct care to students via telehealth, including assessments, therapy, medication, and care coordination. Families can meet with a licensed therapist within 7 days of referral.
Example of a Tier 3 care experience with Cartwheel
We handle all logistics and keep your school mental health teams in the loop on student progress (with parent / guardian consent).
Within 7 days, a licensed clinician on our team conducts an assessment via telehealth and crafts a personalized care plan. We keep the school in the loop throughout this process.
A school staff member submits a student referral to Cartwheel's Care Team. We reach out to the family within 2 days.
Our team of licensed therapists provide evidence-based, short-term therapy (typically 6-10 sessions). We also have child psychiatrists on our team to support medication management as needed.
Our team works with the student and family to assess longer-term needs and refer to community providers as needed.
Mental health designed around your school.
We work hand in hand to empower school staff, reduce stress for families, and improve mental health outcomes for all students. Our FERPA- and HIPAA-compliant program is built specifically for schools and their unique needs in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Families can meet with a licensed therapist or child psychiatrist within 7 days—no waitlists.
A consistent team of licensed therapists, child psychiatrists, and a clinical manager are handpicked based on your school’s specific needs.
Our diverse team of clinicians serves all students, including those who are uninsured or covered by Medicaid.
We work directly with families throughout the care process, starting with the very first visit.
Our year-round virtual care model allows students to join from home or from school, during and after the school day—even over school breaks and holidays.
We use evidence-based screening tools and treatments and continuously measure student progress.
